YAU x DENSO Project

Animortem of Pictorial Form: IV. Investigation was re-edited and installed in the corporate office entrance of DENSO, a Japanese leading company of and internal combustion engines and mobility design, exploring the new possibility of co-creation between artists and corporations.
The project was initiated by YAU, Yurakucho Art Urbanism, that leads the collaboration projects chiefly in performance and dance industry in a usually business-oriented area of Marunouchi, Tokyo. We explored the novel ways of collaboration by finding the intersection between art, science, and engineering——underpinned by the “unthinkables” and the “investigations” readily embedded in human will to power and knowledge.
By elongating the duration of Animortem of Pictorial Form: IV. Investigation, audience is invited to indulge in the computed transfer of different scales——from the cartographies of Cosmic Microwave Background, American cityscapes, gamma waves of solar satellite images——whose experience often described by the artist as equal to watching the bonfire and other natural, slow phenomena.
